INNOspace Masters – Space Moves!
New ideas for the next space Generation
Spin-in & spin-off technology transfers driving innovation in the New Space Economy
The space industry is currently in upheaval due to the arrival of many innovative ideas from various sectors. Under the catchphrase “new space”, the number of private actors involved in the production of payloads and the operation of satellites and carrier systems has multiplied in a very short period of time.
New technologies and processes from industries, such as the transport and mobility sector, offer unexpected prospects for the space industry. Companies are not only provided with the opportunity to better position themselves, but also to open up entirely new markets through additional user services and to revolutionise the entire value chain.
Prizes for SpaceMoves! innovations
The INNOspace Masters competition for the promotion of innovative ideas for the next space generation is aimed at companies, start-ups, universities, non-university research institutions, consortia and individuals. The projects submitted should transfer expertise and technologies from other sectors to the space sector (spin-ins) or open up new terrestrial opportunities for space technologies, services or data (spin-offs).
Under the motto “Space Moves!”, ideas and concepts with different degrees of innovation and maturity will be sought for the various categories of the competition from 20 November 2017 to 16 February 2018. Ideally, the submissions should address current user problems and offer innovative concepts and solutions related to the space industry, with a focus on the following topics:
- Materials, Components and Production
- Sensor Technology & Miniaturisation
- Communication & Network
- Propulsion Technology, E-Mobility & Energy Storage
- Simulation & Testing
Selection and announcement of winners
Following the submission phase, all complete entries will now undergo anonymous evaluation by a jury of experts from the competition’s partners. The winners of the individual categories and the overall winner will be announced at a festive awards ceremony to be held on 5 June 2018 as part of the INNOspace Masters “Space Moves!” conference (Humboldt Carré, Berlin, Germany).
Along with extensive marketing and communication activities and a global network of contacts, the winners will receive technological and business-related support services from first-rate partners capable of providing the best possible assistance as they turn their concepts into reality.
